Mercenaries Saga is a tactical RPG series that just might have slipped under your radar over the years. Developed by Rideon Japan, the series began life on mobile in Japan and then transitioned to Nintendo 3DS, followed by Mercenaries Saga Collection on Switch which united all three original entries onto a single cartridge, and finally the most recent sequel, Mercenaries Wings: The False Phoenix which launched back in 2018. Now, Rideon and CIRCLE Entertainment will be bringing the fifth entry in the series to fans on December 17 with Mercenaries Blaze: Dawn of the Twin Dragons!
Here’s a rundown of what to expect from the Dawn of the Twin Dragons:
- Experience an amazing story with two distinct paths and a diverse cast of characters.
- Lots of optional battles that allow you to see more of the world and level up your team.
- 3D Battle Maps, giving greater control and depth in strategic play.
- Use Blaze Exceed, a key power that can turn the tide of battle.
- Incredible depth beyond battles, as you carefully manage equipment, skills and classes for your team.
There’s no word of Mercenaries Blaze getting a physical release, but both Mercenaries Saga Collection and Mercenaries Wings were given a print run by Limited Run Games, so hopefully there will eventually be cartridges of the game.
