This winter, Kirby returns in his first adventure on Wii U. Kirby and the Rainbow Curse won’t be available until February 3, but Nintendo has already revealed box art for the upcoming title. We’ve mirrored it below for your viewing pleasure!
Kirby fans will notice that the game’s titular character is smiling happily, which is something we don’t often get to see in his North American box art. Typically, the character is given a tougher appearance in the region, with some pretty surprising examples through the years. While Kirby has always been known as “one tough cream puff,” it’s nice to see his happier side getting the spotlight for a change.
Kirby and the Rainbow Curse is a spiritual successor to Kirby: Canvas Curse, which appeared on the Nintendo DS. The follow-up boasts claymation graphics and Amiibo support, though we don’t know exactly what to expect in regards to the latter, just yet. Stay tuned to Nintendojo where we’ll have more information on the title in the coming months!

Finally – it’s about time we got a happy Kirby instead of seeing him scowl and frown. :)
