Sea of Stars was a surprise hit last year from developer Sabotage Studio, which had previously developed The Messenger. The game has gone on to garner many awards and accolades since launch, but it seems the world is not yet done with Sea of Stars. Revealed during today’s Indie World Showcase, a new DLC expansion dubbed Throes of the Watchmaker is coming to Nintendo Switch next spring. Take a gander:

Discover a miniature clockwork world in this free DLC for the critically-acclaimed and multi-award-winning RPG Sea of Stars. Gear up for a journey full of oddities and wonders, in which Valere and Zale will have to play by new rules to stop a cursed carnival. Zale will transform into a skilful juggler, while Valere will dazzle as an acrobat. Together with new playable character Arty, they’ll explore new areas, traverse new dungeons and encounter new enemies, bosses and puzzles in their quest to save the world of Horloge.
Note that there is an upcoming local co-op expansion that this DLC will also support. You’ll be able to partner with up to two other players to go out adventuring together. Throes of the Watchmaker is a free expansion, so anyone who owns Sea of Stars will be able to download and play it when the content becomes available in spring of 2025.
