Another year, another no-show for in-person attendance of E3. With the Omicron variant of COVID-19 continuing to surge around the globe, the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has decided it will not be hosting an in-person version of E3 for 2022. This will be the third year in a row that E3 has not been available for physical attendance.
There will be no in-person E3 this year, and the ESA hasn’t committed to a virtual event eitherhttps://t.co/9M7WZ3Ciog

While the lack of an in-person E3 isn’t completely surprising, there does remain the question of whether or not there will be a digital version of the convention like the one that was produced last year. As of this writing, there’s no word one way or the tother from the ESA about the fate of E3 in 2022, although it does say it “[looks] forward to announcing more details soon.” Once we learn more, we’ll be sure to update you all.
