Despite looking like a promising platformer that drew inspiration from the likes of Banjo-Kazooie and Super Mario 64, Poi wasn’t able to find enough of a fan base to make its Kickstarter ambitions successful. Thankfully, the developers at Polykid didn’t put their entire fate in the hands of crowdfunding and instead just wanted to use it to expand on what they already had planned. This means that the game is still alive, it’s just not going to be as big as was hoped.
To prove that there is still plenty of blood flowing through Poi’s veins, Polykid released a new trailer showing off its 3D world of airships, volcanoes, castles, and plenty of platforming shenanigans. Furthermore, the trailer gives us a taste of some co-op exploration, too.
Regardless of its now diminished scope, Poi still looks like it will be worth keeping an eye on, especially for gamers with a longing to relive the glory days of N64 era platforming.
