This Saturday at 6 pm EST, the Triple Speed Runners will start a marathon session to play every Zelda title ever released over the next week. And, if you’re interested in seeing it, they’ll also be streaming those efforts right on their website. Why? They’re attempting to raise money for Child’s Play, a charity that organizes toy drives for children’s hospitals.
Over the 168-hour marathon, the Triple Speed Runners will not only attempt to beat every Zelda game in franchise history, they’re even breaking it down by the chronological order established in the Hyrule Hystoria timeline. They’ll also host trivia and give away prizes to donors.
While some of the Triple Speed Runners will attempt to break speed records, they’ll also try to break their donation record. Since 2009, they’ve raised over $10,000 for various charities. Their current donation record for a single session happened in 2012 when they raised $3,700 during a Mega Man marathon. This time around, the group is hoping to break $8,000. A lofty goal, even for the hero of Hyrule.
If you’re a Zelda fan, or if you’re just interested in helping a good cause, check out the group’s website here. Remember Dojo Disciples, not everyone can be the hero of time, but anyone can be a hero.

I love the fundraisers these people do, it helps folks out and shows the positives about gaming.
