The world rejoiced when Nintendo announced it was lowering the price of, and even reprinting, some of its biggest Wii, Wii U, and 3DS games as part of its Nintendo Selects collection. Greatest hits reprints are nothing new, even for Nintendo, but the company has always been slow to slash its prices since so many of its titles are perennial sellers. Now, the number of selects is set to grow by five more 3DS titles– or at least it will in Europe.
Starting in June, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, Paper Mario: Sticker Star, and Nintendo Presents: New Style Boutique (known in the US as Style Savvy: Trendsetters) will all be getting the Selects treatment. What this means for gamers is that the games will be getting another printing with Nintendo Selects packaging and a lower price of €19,99 or £15.99.
This is, of course, great news for those who missed out on these gems the first time around, especially considering some have become rather hard to come across in physical form. Really, the only bad to come from news like this is that collectors and packaging purists will have to work harder to find copies with original box art unsullied by the Nintendo Selects branding.
