While the prospects of a worldwide release for Dragon Quest X may seem dimmer and dimmer with each passing month, at least players in Japan will get to enjoy the game for a while longer, as Square Enix is set to announce its first expansion for the title next week.
According to Siliconera, the expansion will be called Dragon Quest X: The Slumbering Hero and Sworn Guiding Ally, and will be released for the PC, Wii, and Wii U versions of the game. A release date for the expansion has yet to be announced, but Square Enix plans to show it off at this year’s Tokyo Game Show, which will begin on September 19.
Dragon Quest X was released in Japan for Wii and Wii U on August 2, 2012 and March 30, 2013, respectively. A PC version of the game will be released on September 26.
