Now this is a very fun and interesting surprise: Nintendo is offering Super Smash Bros. Ultimate players the opportunity to unlock DLC fighter Sephiroth prior to his official release on December 22. To do so, players must launch the game and play the special Sephiroth Challenge. Succeed, and early access is yours!
For a limited time, you’ll be able to fight Sephiroth as a boss character in the #SephirothChallenge! If you defeat him, you’ll be able to use Sephiroth and the Northern Cave stage prior to their official release date!

To challenge Sephiroth, players must have either pre-ordered Challenger Pack 8: Sephiroth or purchased the Fighter Pass Vol. 2. There are three difficulty levels to choose from, so those wanting a stiffer challenge have the opportunity to stretch their fighting muscles.
