Low-poly games have been experiencing something of a renaissance in recent years. Once derided as “ugly,” the look of classic Nintendo 64, PlayStation, and Saturn games is finally being embraced as its own distinct visual style not unlike 8-bit and 16-bit games. With the likes of Paratopic, Toree 3D, and Lunistice, it’s becoming very clear that there is a large and growing audience of fans who are enjoying this aesthetic. If you’re one of those fans and have been hankering for a new game to play, Super Rare Games and developer Bynine Studios have you covered with the upcoming Cavern of Dreams on Nintendo Switch.
Similar to games like Banjo-Kazooie and Spyro the Dragon, Cavern of Dreams stars Fynn the dragon, who is out to rescue his unhatched siblings from the nominal cavern. The game has already garnered a lot of buzz from fans and will be coming shortly to Nintendo Switch on February 29, 2024. Kind of fun to see a game launching on such a rare date, eh?
