It was hugeley surprising when Nintendo revealed that its defunct Virtual Boy console would be making a comeback as part of its Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service. Originally teased with a nebulous 2026 release window back in September, that has now become a firm launch date of February 17, 2026. Nintendo has released a dandy overview trailer giving fans the ins and outs of Virtual Boy’s return:
Here are the seven games you’ll be able to play at launch:
- Galactic Pinball
- Teleroboxer
- Wario Land
- Red Alarm
- 3D Tetris
- Golf
- The Mansion of Innsmouth
Don’t forget that you can order either a cardboard version of the Virtual Boy hardware or a full proper facsimile from Nintendo—you’ll need one or the other in order to play. Thankfully, this will be available to both Switch and Switch 2 users, so no matter your platform, you’ll be able to join in on the fun. Will you be giving Virtual Boy a try?
