Yesterday saw the release of Pokémon X & Y, the newest iterations in the classic franchise. Last week’s Track of the Week was all about getting you guys pumped for the release, but this week, we’re going to slow it down so you can relax after a weekend of gym battles and catching ’em all. This is the Relic Forest theme, which originally appeared in the GameCube titles Pokémon Colosseum and Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness.
While this song isn’t as well known as the classic Trainer Battle theme we gave you last week, this is one of my personal favorite songs from the franchise. It’s soothing, and really captures the peaceful serenity of the Relic Forest area. Considering that the console Pokémon titles tend to focus mostly on battles, something a little more peaceful was a welcome change of pace.
