Everyone loves a good surprise. Maybe when you were younger, your parents bought you a gaming gift that knocked your socks off. And perhaps one surprise led to another. Nintendo has certainly surprised us many times and it’s those special encounters which keep us thinking long after the end credits have rolled.

Maybe not quite a cameo, but I loved seeing E Gadd’s inventions play a role in Super Mario Sunshine. At one point, Bowser Junior refers to him as “the strange old man with the white coat”. Plus, FLUDD kinda sounds like the ole professor.
