A few weeks ago, reports emerged that Nintendo would be releasing limited edition gold and silver variants of the Mario Amiibo from the upcoming Super Mario Amiibo series. It seems those reports have now been substantiated, as many fans have begun spotting flyers at Walmart stores advertising the Gold Mario Amiibo as a chain exclusive.

This would hardly be the first Amiibo to be released exclusively at a specific chain; fans in the United States can only purchase the Shulk Amiibo through video game retailer GameStop, while Rosalina is only available at Target stores. As a result, these have become two of the rarest and most sought after figures in Nintendo’s Amiibo line, and the same will likely happen with the Gold Mario Amiibo.

How has your Amiibo hunt been going? Do you have any interest in picking up the Gold Mario Amiibo? Tell us below in the comments!
