The news continues to trickle out regarding Mighty No. 9, legendary game designer Keiji Inafune’s spiritual successor to his classic Mega Man franchise. In a recent post to the game’s official website, developer Comcept went into vague detail regarding a number of the control mechanics and story elements that we can expect when the game finally sees a release.

While playing as the game’s heroic lead, Beck, gamers will be running, dashing, blasting, and even “downward-dashing” and “backwards-jumping” all in an effort to resolve the crisis that has emerged as a result of the “global robot rampage,” an event which has seemingly driven all robots in the known universe insane. Beck, with a little encouragement from his creator Dr. White, will have to overcome his insecurities after having been seen as the weak link among his team in order to defeat his enemies and save the day!

Further details were scarce, though the screenshots that were showcased do seem in keeping with the industrial motif that the game has sported up to this point. Will this game be a day one purchase for you “Megafans” out there? Or will you be leaving it on the shelf? Let us know in the comments below!
