Last week during the BitSummit festival in Japan, famed designer Keiji Inafune unveiled Azure Striker Gunvolt, a new sidescrolling action game for the 3DS eShop. While the game was initially only announced for Japan, Siliconera has confirmed that it will also be heading to North America this summer.
The news comes directly from Takuya Aizu, CEO of Inti Creates, the studio behind Azure Striker Gunvolt. Aizu also stated that a European release is being considered, but due to the fact that the game would need to be localized in several different languages, it would be arriving in the region sometime after North America and Japan.
Azure Striker Gunvolt puts players in control of the eponymous Gunvolt, a freedom fighter with the ability to psychically conjure lightning bolts. Gunvolt will need to master his psychic powers to blast his way through the game’s stages and overthrow the repressive Sumeragi Group.
