This past weekend, Nintendo launched the Splatoon Global Testfire demo, giving Wii U owners a chance to try out the game’s signature Turf War mode with other players around the globe before it launches later this month. For many, this was their first opportunity to go hands-on with the colorful shooter, which is shaping up to be one of Nintendo’s most inventive and charming new properties in years. Robert P. spent a considerable amount of time with demo and, like many fans, came away impressed, saying it “redefines the aesthetics and nature of an online shooter in many of the same ways that Super Smash Bros. did with fighters.”
With the Splatoon Global Testfire still on everyone’s mind, we want to ask what your thoughts were on it. Did you try the demo during one of the times it was available? Had an absolute blast with it. I was getting hyped based purely on the strong word-of-mouth, but the demo was the perfect way to show players what the game has to offer. Chaotic fun.
It was a blast! If money was not tight right now, I would definitely be getting it day 1. The demo really solidified that it is an excellent game and worth the cost. I just wish they were having more demo times.
