There were a lot of great games on the Super NES, and more than a few series had their start on Nintendo’s 16-bit console. But which one was really stood out amongst the crowd?

However old you were when the SNES came out, you probably have an opinion on which series that started on SNES is best.

I hate to say it, but Chrono Trigger? Not really a -series- so much as it is just literally a couple of games. Harvest Moon, on the other hand … come on, guys.
I agree. I don’t think CT should be on here either– it’s getting votes just from people who hunger for another sequel; it’s not really a series (obscure side-/gaiden-games aside) and its only true sequel was some alternate dimension reinvention of said previous side story. The other games on the list at least went on to have more than one sequel, though Pilotwings just barely gets by with its 3DS release.
Speaking of CT! (Not off my soapbox yet) I love how Square Enix is known for milking its franchises to death (the Mana and SaGa series have a couple games too many in them, for starters), yet for some reason one of the fan favorites like CT remains some untouchable property. We’ll see if they do the same with World Ends With You– I wouldn’t be surprised– though I thought it was interesting how someone from Obsidian, who’s making Dungeon Siege III for Square Enix, made a comment that he’d love for his team to get the chance to make a new Chrono sequel.
You guys need to get over yourselves. By that logic, I shouldn’t have put Yoshi’s Island on here, either, because it only got one sequel and a mini-game collection. Besides, we should all clearly be voting for F-Zero.
‘swhy I didn’t vote for Yoshi’s Island, either :P
… and isn’t Yoshi’s Island technically Super Mario World 2, anyway?
F-Zero is one of my favorites.
YOSHI’S ISLAND!
Yoshi is the correct pick but so is Star Fox. huh
Star Fox feat. Yoshi? Yeah, I think so! (He’d make a great test pilot.)
Harvest Moon
Yes. This poll sucks. The problem isn’t entirely nintendojo’s fault because they are trying to name games that came first on SNES and the reality is that most the greatest began as NES titles before SNES and some even before that on the MSX or other computers.
I should have chosen StarFox or, Super Mario Kart. Yoshi’s island is part of an already established series: Mario World.
