Much has been made about Nintendo Switch 2 and the new mouse controls that have been incorporated into the console’s updated Joy-Con. Indeed, they’re very precise and open up games for new types of experiences, much like the drag and roll mechanics featured in Drag X Drive, for instance. However, while gameplay is one area that the mouse controls can be applied, there are other, more pragmatic areas to consider.
One is the UI of Nintendo Switch 2 itself. It appears that players will be able to use mouse controls to navigate through the menu screens of the system. These controls were shown off in a recent Nintendo Today! video; the app has been very active in not just promoting Switch 2, but going into depth with its new features, as well. Players can opt to place their Joy-Con flat on a table, or alternatively slide them around on their pant legs.
