Earlier this year, Nintendo fans in America were able to pick up the elusive Gold Mario Amiibo exclusively from Walmart. The figure went on to sell out of pre-orders within minutes of the announcement, and Walmart was very clear that the number in stock was quite low. For those of you who regularly pay attention to Walmart’s website, though, you may have already seen that it recently offered another chance to get this ultra rare figure. For everyone else, though, Walmart is once again out of stock.
The retailer had started selling a new bundle which included Super Mario Maker and two Amiibo: the 30th Anniversary Mario Amiibo and the Gold Mario Amiibo. At the time of writing, however, the store page only lets you ask to be alerted when the bundle is back in stock.
We thought that the recently released Super Mario Maker is an outstanding title (one which our reviewer, Robert, urged readers to go out and buy!), and with the included Amiibo, the bundle was a great deal. As with earlier in the year, though, it remains almost impossible to get hold of certain Amiibo! Nintendo has been making more of an effort to restock its rarer figures in recent weeks, but this just goes to show how difficult a task that remains.
We’ll be sure to keep readers updated if Walmart gets the bundle back in stock any time soon.
In the meantime, did you manage to pick up this latest bundle, or have you given up on getting your hands on new Amiibo? Let us know below.
