While the upcoming Tokyo Olympics might be the most exciting event coming up in Japan for most folks, gamers have another reason to visit the Land of the Rising Sun. We’ve known for a while that Nintendo was teaming up with Universal Studios Japan to create a new theme park attraction, but we finally have some more details about what to expect.
The new section of the park will be called Super Nintendo Land and visitors will be given a wrist band, the “Power Up Band,” to put on that will make the experience more interactive. Visitors will be able to compete with one another as they earn coins throughout the park thanks to the band as well as a downloadable smart phone app. The following video was put together to help hype up the experience.
Super Nintendo Land will open up this summer in Universal Studio’s Osaka location, however it will eventually find its way to their theme parks in Singapore, Hollywood, and Orlando.
