During the heyday of 2D game consoles, horror games weren’t very prevalent. There were some notable exceptions, but the real dawn of survival horror as a major video game genre didn’t kick-off until the release of the original PlayStation. Over the last few years, indie developers have proven that horror can be pulled off in a pixelated format, with a number of strong options currently available. Developer Painted Black’s The Long Reach will be the latest on Switch, and the game’s latest trailer certainly looks horrifying!
A side-scrolling 2D adventure, The Long Reach incorporates elements of psychological horror alongside science fiction elements. Further information is rather limited at this time, but this looks a bit similar to The Coma: Recut, another indie horror game recently released on Switch.
Those looking forward to The Long Reach won’t have to wait long for more information. The title will release on March 14.
