The Turok franchise made a splash back in the day when it launched its first game, Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, on Nintendo 64 back in 1997. A first-person shooter, the game was a fan-favorite and spawned multiple sequels for many years after that. However, the series started to lose its luster in the early 2000s, and has largely been irrelevant in the world of video games for quite some time. Saber Interactive is hoping to return the series to form with its upcoming first and third-person shooter Turok: Origins, which will release in the fall of 2026. Take a look at the trailer, below:
Turok: Origins aims to be a reinvention of the series. You can switch back and forth between first and third-person perspectives, for starters, and players will also be able to link up online to play with others. Dinosaurs are a threat, naturally, but there are other forces at play in Origins to combat. Although it’s been a long time since Turok made a splash as a video game series, perhaps under the guidance of Saber fans will fall in love with the property once more.
