Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is right around the corner, but that doesn’t mean SEGA is anywhere near done with the Blue Blur. Nor, it would seem, Shadow the Hedgehog, who is set to make his cinematic debut in Sonic 3 and features prominently in the teaser trailer for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, which was announced at The Game Awards last night. Take a gander at the cinematic trailer dropped by SEGA:
While SEGA has announced that CrossRoads is coming “soon,” when that is exactly remains a mystery. We also don’t totally know what sort of gimmick this Sonic Racing installment will have, if any. Previously, SEGA has released Sonic Racing games where the vehicles transform, and the most recent installment, Team Sonic Racing, saw players working together to cross the finish line. According to the press release, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds “[features] the iconic characters from the Sonic the Hedgehog universe. The game features a distinct racing mechanic that promises to transport Sonic racing fans into a new dimension.”
