Last week came word that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants will come to Nintendo Switch on April 23. Now, it’s been revealed that another TMNT game will be dropping in 2024, as well. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed was announced around the time that the film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem was hitting theaters. It’s taken a little while, but the folks at Game Informer were given an exclusive first look at the game, which you can see a bit of below:
Here’s a tad more about TMNT: Mutants Unleashed from GI’s coverage:
“The 3D brawler/platformer picks up after the events of Mutant Mayhem; the Turtles have been accepted by society following their heroics against Superfly and his band of mutants. Unfortunately, their dream of attending high school as average, everyday students is suddenly interrupted by a new wave of mutants invading New York City. Featuring an all-original storyline, Mutants Unleashed aims to have the same brand of humor as the 2023 film.”
The game lets players select from one of the four brothers and engage in brawler combat, as TMNT games are wont to do. There’s no four-player co-op, but players can at least engage in two-player local co-op, so fans can bring along a buddy to take on all these new baddies the bros will be dealing with.
Developed by A Heartful of Games and published by Outright Games, TMNT: Mutants Unleashed is being touted as having an immersive “world above and below ground,” along with a lot of familiar faces for the team to interact with. Although no release date has been given, TMNT: Mutant Unleashed is expected to launch closer to the end of 2024.
