After the fiasco that was the launch of Pokémon TCG: Prismatic Evolutions, a set that most people couldn’t get their hands on thanks to predatory scalpers, it’s a little hard to hype up the new upcoming booster, Destined Rivals. It has a lot going for it given it’s themed around Team Rocket, which will undoubtedly get longtime fans thinking about the Team Rocket boosters of yore. This new set is looking to spice things up with an exciting array of cards—let’s go over the details, as described by The Pokémon Company International’s press release:

- 83 new cards tagged as Team Rocket’s
- 17 Pokémon ex, including 10 Trainer’s Pokémon ex
- 23 illustration rare Pokémon
- 11 special illustration rare Pokémon
- Six hyper rare gold-etched cards
Fans will theoretically be able to pick up this new boosters beginning May 30, 2025, but as with Prismatic Evolutions, there’s no guarantee that anyone will actually be able to buy the things without having to go through a scalper. Will The Pokémon Company and Nintendo ever make any worthwhile efforts to ensure that actual fans can purchase these products without being extorted by third-party sellers? Only time will tell, but we’ll update if we hear anything before launch.
