Image & Form’s SteamWorld series has been a steady supplier of great indie experiences on Nintendo systems for a while with their latest game, SteamWorld Dig 2, being highly-acclaimed when it launched on Switch earlier this year. Their previous game, SteamWorld Heist, was also very well received despite turning away from its platforming roots and embracing an interesting take on 2D, turn-based strategy. While one can enjoy Heist on a number of systems, including Wii U and 3DS, gamers will soon to be able to play it on Switch as well.
For Switch, SteamWorld Heist: Ultimate Edition will offer the same great game alongside its expansion, The Outsider, in one convenient package for the price of $19.99. However, this is more than just a straightforward port as gamers will now be able to use touch controls when playing the game in portable mode. This new feature should prove especially useful given the importance of precise aiming in the games strategically rich gameplay.
What’s even better is that gamers won’t have to wait too long as it will be available in North America and Europe on December 28. Japan will have to wait a little longer as it isn’t planned for release over there until sometime early next year.
