The wait for December is going to be a tough one if this trailer is anything to go off of. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 has finally been officially shown off to the public, and the footage is rather glorious. Enough preamble, give it a look:
Not only do we get official confirmation of Keanu Reeves as Shadow the Hedgehog, which has been percolating as a rumor for a while now, but we also see the return of Jim Carrey’s Dr. Robotnik. And not just one Dr. Robotnik, but two! The actor will also be portraying his own father as Dr. Gerald Robotnik. What’s more, fans will finally be getting the proper, chunky version of the character, as Robotnik’s bulbous belly is on full display in this trailer. The footage shows off plenty of Shadow (including his motorcycle), Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails, but the question remains: will we see Amy in this next installment? I know one super fan who hopes not, but what say ye, dear readers?
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 comes to theaters on December 20, 2024.
