A Sonic the Hedgehog LEGO set was released last January as part of the company’s LEGO – Ideas lineup. While there’s no denying how glorious that initial offering was, let’s face it, when it comes to toys, especially LEGO, variety is the spice of life. With that in mind, apparently, or perhaps just a fervent desire to generate lots of cash, LEGO is launching four new sets all themed around the Blue Blur—and friends! Take a look:
Here are the details for each set:

Tails’ Workshop and Tornado Plane (76991) | $39.99: Inspired by their favorite Sonic adventures and characters, kids can reimagine exciting quests as they build the course. They can have fun using the Tornado plane to collect the Rings and take out the flying Badnik Buzz Bomber to release the captured Clucky. This playset is packed with fast action play but that’s not all – it’s also designed to encourage creative storytelling. After defeating the Badnik, kids can act out the story as Sonic and Tails conduct research or make repairs in the fully equipped workshop before relaxing with the Clucky.
- Sonic’s Speed Sphere Challenge (76990) | $34.99: The playset features a speed sphere and launcher to propel Sonic across the course as he defeats the Moto bug Badnik and sets Sonic’s Flicky pal free. Kids will love the challenge as they use the speed sphere launcher to help Sonic collect the Rings, pass through the gateway and go up the ramp to reach the Chaos Emerald. This toy set is packed with fast action play but that’s not all – it also offers kids role-play opportunities as they help care for the Flicky. After defeating the Badnik, kids can act out the story as Sonic relaxes with his favorite chili dog and plays on his DJ decks.
- Amy’s Animal Rescue Island (76992) | $49.99: Creative play is easy as kids explore the island scene and help Amy and Tails care for their animal friends. There’s lots to enjoy as the characters slide into the pool, build sandcastles or enjoy the carousel. Kids can use the drawbridge and waterfall trap to defeat the Badnik who’s trying to steal the animals. There’s also a secret doorway that leads to the kitchen and sleeping areas where kids can care for the animals that have been saved.
- Sonic’s Green Hill Zone Loop Challenge (76994) | $99.99: The toy set comes with a speed sphere and launcher to propel Sonic across the course on his quest to save the animals from Dr. Eggman and the Badniks. Kids aged 8+ can enjoy the challenge as Sonic flies through the loop-de-loop and ring before knocking over Dr. Eggman’s mech to release the animals trapped inside. Then they can help Amy, as she uses her water scooter and sets traps to defeat the Badniks Chopper and Newtron. This toy set is packed with fast action play, but that’s not all. It also offers role-play opportunities as kids act out the story and care for the rescued animals.
