Earlier this month when SEGA announced Sonic X Shadow Generations, it also revealed that there would be some special DLC coming to Sonic Superstars. That DLC is a Shadow costume that Sonic can wear in-game. Many assumed that this would essentially be a proper Shadow skin, ostensibly finally giving fans a chance to play a 2D Sonic game with the beloved Ultimate Life Form.
Now, the DLC is live (and free), with fans needing simply download it to their copy of Superstars. However, the reality of what the suit is… well, it might run against what some folks were expecting. Take a look:
As can be seen in the trailer, Sonic is wearing an actual Shadow costumer where his little face sticks out of the hood. It’s an unusual look, to say the least. That said, many in the Sonic fan community have argued that Shadow simply isn’t supposed to be in a 2D Sonic game in the first place, owing to having been born in the 3D era of the series. This writer was certainly disappointed by the design, but what say you, readers? Share with us down below!
