SEGA is keeping the Sonic the Hedgehog hype meter up to eleven as it announces another year of celebration centered around the Blue Blur and his companions. Racing Around the World is the name of this new initiative, and for the next year it will be an opportunity for, as SEGA puts it, to celebrate the “trademark characteristics of speed and attitude” that define Sonic. The launch of the initiative will coincide with the upcoming release of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds (which still doesn’t have a specific launch date just yet).
To begin the fun, SEGA has teamed with Red Bull and high-speed stunt driver Brandon Semenuk to produce a stunt-filled video, one littered with Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds easter eggs. Take a gander:
SEGA says that fans can look forward to “new racing-inspired brand partnerships, upcoming mobile game events, merchandise, and much more to come.” There’s a website dedicated to the festivities which you can check out right here to keep up to date on all the goings-on related to Racing Around the World. As for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, the site continues to say “coming soon,” but when we know the definitive date, so too will you.
