SEGA and Universal Announce Production of a Shinobi Film

Step aside, Sonic, another SEGA IP is getting the silver screen treatment!

Get ready filmgoers. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 will be hitting theaters on December 20, 2024, but it won’t be the last movie to come from SEGA. The company will be teaming up with Universal to produce a film based on its Shinobi IP. Here’s the announcement:

Deadline had a bit to reveal about who will be bringing Shinobi to the silver screen:

Marc Platt and Adam Siegel will produce the movie through Marc Platt Productions alongside Dmitri M. Johnson through Story Kitchen and Toru Nakahara for Sega. Mike Goldberg will executive produce alongside Timothy I. Stevenson, who is co-producing.

As for when to expect the movie? Alas, that bit isn’t known, but as we learn more, we’ll continue to update you all.
