It’s been a minute since the last Nintendo Direct broadcast (September 2025, to be precise) and, let’s face it—everyone is wondering what the heck year two of Nintendo Switch 2 will bring. While there are a handful of upcoming titles that people know about, there remains the question of what else Nintendo has planned for the rest of 2026 and beyond. Naturally, this has gotten the rumor mill churning and, yep, people are predicting a Direct is on the way… just maybe not the type you’d prefer.
According to NateTheHate2 on X, there will indeed be a Direct—a Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase:
And he is correct. Next week’s Direct will be a Partner Direct Showcase.

Nate has made prior statements about Nintendo Directs that have proven shockingly prescient, but take this one with a grain of salt, just in case. Fans are chomping at the bit to hear everything from word of a new Zelda game to the next 3D Mario title, but it wouldn’t hurt to hear what the likes of Square Enix, Capcom, and other studios have in store for Switch 2.
