The wait for Bravely Second is almost over in Japan, but the series’ producers already have their mind set on the future.
“I don’t know what to say about that at this time,” producer Tomoya Asano stated in an interview with Famitsu, “but I already have some ideas for Bravely Third in my head. If Bravely Second sells well, I plan on presenting plans for it right away.”
The interview also included information regarding Bravely Second, with producer Shinji Takahashi estimating the game’s main story will probably take 50 hours to complete, while seeing and doing absolutely everything will likely take 100 hours.
“We’ve packed it with all the ideas we can think of for its story and system,” Asano said of the game.
All things considered, another game in the franchise seems highly likely. Square Enix has already trademarked the title Bravely Third, and the first game was a significant commercial and critical success around the world, with many gamers hailing it as a return to form for the wayward JRPG genre. Furthermore, Famitsu has already reviewed Bravely Second, with each of the publication’s four reviewers giving it 9/10. The only question that remains is if Bravely Second will take just as long as its predecessor to find its way out of Japan.
