Nintendo has been rather aggressive when it comes to bundling games with Wii U ever since the system launched, and now the company will be tying the hardware in with its next big release. When Splatoon launches on May 29, North American gamers will be able to pick up the new shooter along with a Wii U for $299.99. Europeans, however, won’t be able to pick up the bundle until June 19.
There are also a couple other differences between the two bundles. In North America, the bundle will be exclusive to Best Buy and will include a download code for Splatoon instead of a physical disk; also, the Wii U system will come pre-installed with Nintendo Land. As for the European bundle, it will include a physical copy of Splatoon and come with a trial of Wii Karaoke U.
Hopefully the combination of this exciting new IP and Wii U hardware will prove to be a mutually beneficial relationship, so I have more targets to splatter once the game comes out.
Thank heavens it’s a normal system/gamepad, or I would have to buy a second Wii U.
I may have a problem…
Yeah they definitely missed out on an opportunity to make an awesome paint splatter skin for hardware.
