Potential Spoiler For Donkey Kong Bananza Discovered

Donkey Kong Bananza was revealed during last week’s Nintendo Direct broadcast, heralding the return to 3D for the character for the first time in 26 years. Along with general details about the game, including its July 17 release date, other tidbits and details were revealed, including key art for the game. For reference, here’s what Nintendo’s PR put out here in the US:

Over in South Korea, however, on that country’s Nintendo website, a banner featuring this key art was noticed by fans… except it was a little different than in other parts of the world. Here’s that banner and the small, but seemingly major, detail omitted from our key art:

Do you see her? We’ll zoom in a bit on DK’s upper left shoulder area…

Yes, there is a young lady clinging to DK, and it appears to be either Pauline in her youth, or maybe a character connected to Pauline. At least, that’s the theory among fans at this point. But what role might Pauline play in the adventure? The whole thing is currently a mystery, but it will be interesting to see what happens when these two characters are brought together after so long apart.
