Nintendo and The Pokémon Company announced today that Pokémon Shuffle has already been downloaded over one million times worldwide on the 3DS eShop. Even more impressive is the fact that the game has only been available since February 18!
To celebrate the impressive milestone, all Pokémon Shuffle players will be rewarded with a Complexity -1 in-game item. When used, Complexity -1 reduces the variety of Pokémon by one, making it easier to chain combos. To use the item, players will need to sign-in after reaching level 11.
Pokémon Shuffle is a puzzle game for the Nintendo 3DS eShop, similar to titles like Pokémon Battle Trozei and Pokémon Puzzle League. It is also Nintendo’s first foray into free download games with pay-to-play options, similar to iOS titles like Candy Crush Saga. Nintendo did not offer any details regarding actual profits from the title at this time, however. It will be interesting to see the percentage of players that are paying to download content in the game.
