Pikmin 3 has been announced for Wii U.
The red, blue and yellow Pikmin will be making a return, but you’ll also be able to control a new type of Pikmin: Rock Pikmin.
Pikmin will now carry materials to build their bridges, and they’ll also break down walls in a much more realistic way now.
But you won’t just be able to control it with the Game Pad. You can use Wii Motion Plus to help aim your Pikmin more accurately when you want to attack enemies. If you’re using the Remote and nunchuk, the Wii U Game Pad will serve as a map, giving you an overall picture of the environment.
However, if you do choose to play with just the Game Pad, you can take control of up to four “leaders”. They all look a lot like Olimar, but Olimar isn’t among them– his absence is apparently “a secret”! Intriguing! This will help to deepen the strategic element of the game.
