Yet another horror game has been confirmed for the Switch – developer Bloober Team has announced that their cyberpunk horror title, >observer_, is coming to the console in Q4 2018.
The minds behind Layers of Fear: Legacy, which the team also brought to Switch, have created a dark world centered around neural police that hack into the minds of the insane. You play as Dan Lazarski, an elite neural detective known as an Observer, who’s part of a corporate-funded police force tasked with hacking and invading suspects’ minds. This allows anything one thinks, feels, or remembers to be used against them in court.
It’s 2084 and the future is — you guessed it — dystopian. The “Nanophage” and “the War” have taken a toll on the population, and those that have survived have turned to drugs, VR, and neural implants to deal with the world around them. As Dan hacks into the minds of both criminals and victims, he lives out their darkest fears and finds himself questioning his reality and his sanity. >observer_ will support Joy-Cons and the touchscreen, as well as both docked and undocked play. Were you at PAX West 2018 and, if so, did you get to go hands-on with the game? For those of you who didn’t attend the show, will you be adding this game to your Switch library? Start a conversation in the comments.
