Thanks in large part to the arrival of Switch, the weekly offerings of games to download from Nintendo’s eShops has risen. Not by a ton, but enough to remind us all that the services still have a pulse. Read on for the marquee releases for this week!

Switch Download

Snake Pass – $19.99 – Sumo Digital’s platformer has finally arrived, and it’s shaping up to be a lovely homage to past collect-a-thons while also asserting its own identity. Guide snake Noodle and his bird buddy Doodle through multiple stages while avoiding hazards and basking in the pretty graphics!

ACA Metal Slug – $7.99 – Sure, it probably would’ve made more sense to release the first Metal Slug on Switch before the third, but considering the overall quality of the series, it shouldn’t be too hard to forgive Hamster for the odd scheduling pattern. Metal Slug is Contra on steroids, with its own unique art style and the ever-awesome titular Metal Slug to pilot, as well. Go get it!

Wii U Virtual Console

Pikmin 2 – $19.99 – The second installment of Captain Olimar’s adventures was a winner on GameCube and then souped up with fancy motion controls when it made the transition to Wii’s New Play Control series. That latter iteration is now available for download on Wii U and should not be missed.

That’s it for this week! What will you be downloading? Share with us in the comments!
