Nintendo Switch has been a veritable sensation since its launch in March of 2017. In the nearly six years that have followed, the console has been in constant demand among consumers. Now, it has been revealed via Matt Piscatella of NPD Group that for the fifth year in a row, Switch is the best-selling console in the United States.
That’s no small feat for a system facing competition from the likes of Microsoft’s Xbox Series line and, perhaps more prominently, Sony’s PlayStation 5. Although PS5 brought in more money for Sony (given its higher MSRP), Switch remains on top in terms of the total number of units sold. It’s no small feat for Nintendo, particularly given the outright failure of its previous console, Wii U.
