A new top-down The Legend of Zelda game titled The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom was announced during today’s Nintendo Direct. The game’s release date of September 26 of this year was also announced alongside a story and gameplay trailer. You can see the trailer below:
Speaking of the story and gameplay, Echoes of Wisdom seems to turn both on their heads. At the start of the trailer, Link has fallen into a rift to another dimension, leaving Zelda as the main protagonist. When it comes to gameplay, as Zelda has different skills than Link, she also has an entirely new way to play. Zelda has a staff given to her by a fairy that allows players to copy objects and creatures found in the world around them and paste them anywhere, allowing for strategic traversal and combat solutions. When monsters are copied into the world they will fight alongside Zelda.
