Pac-Man World was a delightful PlayStation platformer put out for the character’s 20th anniversary back in 1999. In a surprise announcement, Bandai Namco revealed during today’s Nintendo Direct Mini broadcast that it will be getting a remake in the form of Pac-Man World Re-Pac. Here’s what to expect from the game according to Nintendo’s press release:
A remake of PAC-MAN WORLD is coming soon! PAC-MAN’s family has been kidnapped! To rescue them, he sets off for Ghost Island. Trounce enemies with PAC-DOTS, the rev-roll, the butt-bounce and … a giant PAC-MAN?! From high-speed chases to galactic escapades, you’ll explore all sorts of zany levels.
Pac-Man World Re-Pac launches on August 28.
