As Nintendo is wont to do during a Direct broadcast, a handful of titles have been added to Switch Online. This time, however, we’ve got an interesting menagerie of games to sift through. Let’s start with the names and then get into the details:
- The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Four Swords (Game Boy Advance)
- Metroid: Zero Mission (Game Boy Advance)
- Turok (Nintendo 64)
- Perfect Dark (Nintendo 64)
You can see all four in this trailer:
And here are trailers for Zelda and Metroid:
The more interesting aspect of today’s update, besides getting two exceptional GBA games, is the inclusion of Turok and Perfect Dark. Both of these titles have been included as part of a new Nintendo 64 Mature 17+ app as part of Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. This app has been available to Japanese users for a while now, but it’s finally come to the West following today’s broadcast. N64 was home to a number of M-rated games, so it makes sense to keep those games separate for discerning families and users that might now want that content on their Switch consoles.
These games and the new N64 Mature 17+ app are all immediately available to those with Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscriptions.
