The LEGO Super Mario range has been an enormous hit for both Nintendo and LEGO, with a wide variety of sets now available based on the plumber, his brother, friends, and enemies, and sets based on other Nintendo properties like Pokémon, The Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing, and Mario Kart. Nintendo revealed yesterday that new LEGO sets based on Mario are coming in 2027, but you might notice something is a little different this time around:

That’s right, proper LEGO Minifigures of Super Mario and (presumably) his allies and foes will be coming next year. This is most welcome to many fans, as the large interactive LEGO Mario figure, although cool in its own way, isn’t what most were looking forward to back when word had broken that the mustachioed one would be getting immortalized in brick form. As for what these new sets and forms will look like? Well, beyond this teaser, your guess is as good as ours—so why not share with us down in the comments?
