Nintendo has announced that a limited edition version of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D, the upcoming 3DS remake of the classic N64 title, will be coming to North America this spring.
In contrast to the European special edition release of Majora’s Mask 3D, which includes a double-sided poster, a pin badge, and is housed in a special steelbook case, the North American bundle will include a copy of the game and a detailed figurine of its primary antagonist, Skull Kid.
The bundle will only be available at select retailers the same day as the standard edition of Majora’s Mask 3D and will set fans back $49.99.
What do you think of the limited edition Majora’s Mask 3D bundle? Are you excited to get your hands on the Skull Kid figurine, or would you rather have the goodies included in the European bundle? Share your thoughts with us in the comments!

These were sold out within hours on both Amazon and Gamestop.com. This product literally lasted hours and were long gone before Nintendojo even posted this story.
They are already listed on ebay anywhere from $150 to $500. Crazy. People on Amazon are bragging about buying 10 of these using separate accounts just to turn around and sell them.
While this kind of thing (buying and re-selling) are inevitable, I really wish Nintendo would be a little more creative in distributing items like this. For example, it would be great if Nintendo sent emails out to Club Nintendo members with an option for them to pre-order this product for its MSRP of $49.99. This would reward loyal customers and Nintendo wouldn’t lose any money doing it this way.
Nintendo of Europe is actually doing something similar to this right now: (some?) Club Nintendo members are receiving opportunities (via email) to pre-order a limited edition “ambassador version” of a New 3DS. How cool is that?
I am a teacher and don’t surf the net during the school day. I had absolutely no chance to pre-order the Special Edition Majora’s Mask. It would be great if Nintendo would make more and open up more pre-orders, but I won’t hold my breath.
That being said, there are rumblings of opportunities to pre-order by actually going into Gamestop tomorrow. That would be great, but I won’t hold my breath for anything being available after 3:30pm.
I was unfortunately in the same boat today. The bundle was announced and sold out before I even got out of work. :\
I definitely agree about giving Club Nintendo members a pre-order opportunity, especially for things that are apparently as limited in quantity as this bundle. That sounds like an ingenious way to avoid these kinds of shortages while rewarding loyal fans (who are the most likely ones to buy this sort of thing, anyway).
