A little less than a week before Nintendo’s Digital Event and the start of this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo, it seems Koei Tecmo has unwittingly revealed one of the Big N’s surprise announcements: a 3DS version of Hyrule Warriors.
Earlier today, the publisher posted a trailer for the unannounced game on YouTube, which included footage of two brand new characters: Tetra, Zelda’s swashbuckling alter ego from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, as well as the King of Hyrule himself. The official trailer has since been removed, but many mirrors remain online, so you can see the footage for yourself below:
It’s still unclear just how much the 3DS edition of Hyrule Warriors will differ from its Wii U counterpart, but it has been confirmed that players who purchase the handheld title will be able to transfer Tetra and King Hyrule (along with any other new characters who may appear in the game) over to the Wii U version.
Did you play Hyrule Warriors on Wii U? Does the inclusion of new characters make you want to pick up the 3DS version? Let us know in the comments!
