Talk about a throwback. Inspector Gadget is arguably best known for his titular ’80s cartoon which saw him taking on the nefarious Dr. Claw and his dastardly M.A.D. crime syndicate using his gadget-filled body. With his niece Penny and dog Drain, the trio solved tons of cases in goofy, slapstick fashion. It’s a classic! And now it’s being reinvigorated for a new game: Inspector Gadget: Mad Time Party.
Developer Smart Tale Games, with Microids as publisher, says it’s crafting an adventure where players tackle a variety of minigames in order to defeat Dr. Claw. Dr. Claw has taken over Metro City and Inspector Gadget hopes to use a time machine to solve the problem. As is wont to happen with Gadget, the machine malfunctions, and he suddenly finds that all of his ancestors have been warped to the present. In order to repair the machine he’ll have to encounter each ancestor and get the bolts he needs for the repairs.
