Last week’s Nintendo Digital Event gave us a ton of new information on upcoming releases, but not every announcement made during E3 managed to make the video. One of those announcements was a new piece of free downloadable content for Hyrule Warriors on Wii U. A new skin for Link, based on his appearance in earlier games in the series, like The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, is currently available for download!
Link already had a handful of other outfits available in the game, including one based on his appearance in Ocarina of Time, but old-school Zelda fans have to appreciate the new option, especially given the price tag. The news should also tide fans over as they await the upcoming 3DS title Hyrule Warriors Legends. Tetra and the King of Red Lions from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker have already been confirmed as new characters appearing in the 3DS version of the game. The pair will appear in an epilogue to the story told in the original Wii U Hyrule Warriors. Apparently, those two characters won’t be the only new additions to the game, however! In a recent interview with Famitsu, the producer of Hyrule Warriors Legends, Yosuke Hayashi, dropped a couple of hints as to what fans should expect.
I can’t go into details yet, but we plan to add new character(s) [can mean one or several] other than Tetra and King of Hyrule. There are fan favorites and surprising characters in the game, so I’d be happy if you kept guessing who will join the fight while waiting for follow-up information.
