Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer was a pleasant surprise when it launched on 3DS back in September, mixing familiar elements of the series with new, arcade-like design challenges. A big part of the fun has been seeing all the fresh items that the game has brought along with it; I was blown away by the variety of new objects that I was able to play with when I reviewed Happy Home Designer— especially because I was finally able to perfectly center all these pieces of furniture and move everything around in tiny increments! Well, it looks like Nintendo isn’t quite done with the game, as besides a second wave of Amiibo Cards heading to the title this January, fans can also look forward to a treasure trove of gaming items to use in their home designs.
From the abnormal sight of a fully-stocked Amiibo display kiosk, to a New 3DS LL, the content will be heading to Happy Home Designer owners in Japan this December as part of a challenge to design a gaming haven for animal neighbor Claude. There’s no word on these items coming to North America or Europe yet, but it seems really likely that they will. Eventually. Hopefully. Okay, look, they better show up, because they look awesome and if they don’t my heart will broken, okay, Nintendo? There, I said it. I admitted to a burning desire for digital items that really won’t have any legitimate impact on my life other than to make my designs exponentially cooler.
